Assessing a horse holistically
often identifies not just an apparent problem,
but also it's root cause ...
... working to correct the root cause
will address both problems together
Compensation patterns in posture, action, gait,
and behaviour, can arise in both equines and humans
when trying to alleviate pain or discomfort.
This often deceives the observer
as to where the root cause actually is.
For example, an apparent problem with the near fore
could be the result of a horse trying to compensate
and relieve pain in the off hind, and no amount of treatment to the near fore will ever correct the real problem; sometimes making it even worse!
Something being wrong, will cause a compensatory imbalance elsewhere, and the resulting pain or discomfort
often eventually leads to behavioural issues, and the horse sadly being unfairly 'labelled'.
With the horse and rider together, it is common for problems to be compensated for by each other;
sometimes the rider is compensating for the horse and vice versa; again, by correcting the root cause,
both problems can be addressed together.
Welcome to my website!
My name is Jean Whitebread B.H.S.A.I (Reg), and Equine & Human Healing Practitioner.
Equine CranioSacral therapy (ECS) in which I am also a qualified and experienced Practitioner, is a powerful, though gentle, mainly hands on healing practice, which can be highly effective in the treatment of many injuries and conditions, including behavioural problems. ECS was adapted from it's human counterpart in the late 1990's by Maureen Rogers, who continues to pioneer this amazing therapy internationally; treating horses, and teaching the techniques to Trainers, Veterinarians, Equine Dentists, Physiotherapists, and horse owners, to name but a few.
CranioSacral work, is claimed to trace its origins back many thousands of years to Ayurvedic Healing,
and is today employed professionally worldwide in both the human and equine realms.
ECS is also a core component of April Battles' Equine Bodywork (Integrated Equine therapies) which further embraces intuitive communication and other healing modalities, and brings them together to work in harmony; so adding another dimension for those of us who are committed to improving and extending the quality of life for each and every one of the horses and ponies we are privileged to work with.
Following my joining April in California, and also here in the UK during 2012 for 'one to one' learning
of her methods, I am delighted to be able to carry out this wonderful work, including following up when invited on the findings and recommendations through her increasingly popular Distance Readings which provide so much valuable insight and information about individual horses, and gives the owner precise instructions as to where there are issues, together with what is needed to address them; and how, if preferred, they themselves can work through the suggestions with their own horses.
I hope you will take a look around my website, and find it interesting and informative, including the easy listening audio clips about ECS generally, and also why it is the perfect follow up to any Dentistry work.
Please feel free to give me a call, or e.mail me. I look forward to hearing from you very soon and to possibly helping to make a positive difference for you, and your horse or pony.
Equine CranioSacral therapy and other healing I employ
does not replace traditional Veterinary care.
It is important to consult your Veterinarian prior to any Complementary therapy.
